A wee little Joseph in front of a very big shrine
Joseph in front of Heian Jingu, a very big shrine in Kyoto
The architecture at Heian Jingu is one
reason for Kyoto's fame
Are your coy carp especially vicious or something?
Before using the stepping-stones read this!
Kae being careful of the footing sufficiently and taking care about the accident in case and so on
A national treasure
In the shrine gardens hundreds of cherry trees carpet the sky with blossom
Japan's most famous tree, located in a park in central Kyoto. After recent surgery it's looking a bit skinny this season, but very beautiful nonetheless.
Heian Jingu gardens
Toyohashi
The blossom trails down from overhead trellises
A tunnel of trees with a bad case of dandruff
The original burnt down... I hope they were insured
Kinkaku-ji, the famous goldleaf-coated temple of Kyoto
Having seen so many photos of it in the past,
it didn't really seem real in reality!
Practicing for the lead role in "The Perfect Storm 2"
...gently round in circles
In Arashiyama we escaped the crowds by hiring a boat and dissappearing off upstream
We took a zig-zag route, although that wasn't really by choice...
